Not Just a Pretty Dome: What Makes Clouds Glamping Different From Other Puerto Rico Glamping Spots
Puerto Rico has no shortage of beautiful glamping domes right now — moody lighting, rain-on-the-roof ambiance, romantic staging built for a perfect photo. If that's what you're after, the island has good options.
Clouds Glamping is something different. We didn't set out to build the most photogenic dome on the island. We set out to restore a piece of land — and the dome is how you get to be part of that.

The View: Mountains, Not Neighbors
Some glamping domes on the island are beautiful but sit close to neighboring houses — great design, but you're still aware you're in someone's backyard. At Clouds Glamping, you'll see very few houses at all. What you'll see is mountains — layers of them, in almost every direction, with our own private river running through the property. It's the kind of unobstructed view that's genuinely hard to find on an island this densely populated.
67 Acres, Bordering Over 1,000 Acres of Protected Land
Clouds Glamping sits on a 67-acre working farm, directly adjacent to more than 1,000 acres of protected forest. That scale is a big part of why the property feels so private and quiet — there's simply a lot of undeveloped land around you, not just around your dome.
We're Not Farm-Themed. We're an Actual Working Farm.
A lot of "farm-to-table" or "eco" branding in hospitality is decor — a mural, a name, a curated aesthetic. Clouds Glamping sits on Hacienda Agro Bosque, a real, working regenerative farm in Puerto Rico's Central Mountains, where we grow cacao, breadfruit, and plantain using regenerative agriculture practices that actively restore degraded soil and rebuild the surrounding ecosystem.
Guests don't just look at the farm from their dome window. You can walk it, harvest fruit from it, and eat what it grows — an experience most glamping properties simply don't have the land or the agricultural operation to offer.
Recognized for Impact, Not Just Design
Clouds Glamping was named a finalist for the Regenerative Travel Impact Award — recognition based on environmental and community impact, not interior design or amenities. It's a meaningfully different kind of credential than a design award or a "top glamping spots" listicle, and it reflects what we actually built this for.
100% of Every Stay Goes Back Into the Land and the Community
This isn't a marketing line — it's how the business is structured. Every stay at Clouds Glamping directly funds forest restoration on the property and reinvests in the local Ciales community, many of whom work the farm alongside us. When you book a night here, the money doesn't just cover your stay — it funds the next tree planted and the next season's harvest.
Off-Grid Because It's Right, Not Because It's Trendy
Off-grid living has become a popular aesthetic in glamping — but for us, solar power and rainwater systems aren't a design choice, they're a practical response to Puerto Rico's real infrastructure challenges (drought, an aging water grid, and frequent power instability). Staying here means experiencing genuinely resilient, fully sustainable, off-grid living, not just a rustic-looking dome plugged into the same grid as everything else.
Secluded, But Never Isolated
Despite how private and remote the property feels, you're closer to good food and culture than you'd expect. The area is known for its gastronomy, and you're within easy reach of local restaurants and the Ruta Café con Ron, a cultural coffee-and-rum experience through Ciales. And because you're in the Central Mountains rather than the far side of the island, it's about a 30-minute drive to Mar Chiquita, one of Puerto Rico's most striking natural pool beaches — meaning you can genuinely do mountains and beach in the same day.
A Social Enterprise, Not Just a Business
Clouds Glamping is structured as a social enterprise: 100% of the money from every stay goes back into the community and the land. That's not a marketing add-on layered onto a standard vacation rental — it's the actual business model.
A Different Kind of Peace and Quiet
Many glamping domes on the island lean into curated romance — mood lighting, a bottle of wine, a perfectly staged moment. We have that too. But what guests consistently tell us they remember isn't the lighting — it's waking up to birdsong, walking a working farm before breakfast, and falling asleep to a forest that's actually being restored around them.
Who Clouds Glamping Is For
If you want a beautifully designed dome for a weekend of romance and rest, Puerto Rico has several options and they're worth considering. Clouds Glamping is for travelers who want that same rest and beauty — but attached to something real. A farm you can walk. A restoration project you're funding just by booking. A quieter, more authentic side of Puerto Rico's Central Mountains that most glamping trips never reach.
